In asparagus cultivation, additional irrigation is a crucial success factor, especially on light soils with low water capacity. Watering during the growing season increases yield and harvest quality. The main advantages of a drip irrigation system for asparagus are that they can be planted more quickly and the young shoots are fully developed.

Flying drip irrigation

The method is characterised by an even distribution of water and low material costs, but is only suitable to a limited extent for sandy soils.

Underground drip irrigation

Buried pressure-compensating drip hoses place water right at the root and fertilise at the same time, giving you maximum yields. This method is also called subsurface irrigation. When planting, the drip hoses are laid close to the roots and remain in the ground throughout growth.
