The story of Bosta -  A timeline

1943​ - Foundation of Bosta

Foundation of Bosta by Jan Bottemanne and Frans Stadegaard in Alkmaar, The Netherlands. Core business: conveyor belts for food-processing machines. The building blocks of our company started in 1943 with the establishment of Bosta B.V. in Alkmaar, the north-west of the Netherlands. The primary business was technical products for the agriculture, horticulture and food industries.​

1976​ - Relocation of Bosta NL to Schijndel

The company moved to a new location in Schijndel, the Netherlands.

1980​ - Opening Belgium

Opening of second branch in Belgium. 

1982​ - Partnership with Germany-based Bevo

We set up partnership with Germany-based Bevo. Bevo is a subsidiary of Bosta and serves the German and Austrian market with a specialisation in the field of water technology. It is also a complete solution provider in the areas of swimming pool technology, irrigation technology, stable technology, pools, field irrigation, garden irrigation and greenhouses.​

1988​ - Relocation of Bosta NL to Veghel

Bosta's office moved again. A new location was opened in Veghel, the Netherlands. 

1995​ - Bosta NL acquired Bosta UK Ltd

Opening of a fourth branch in the United Kingdom.

2005​ - MegaGroup Trade Holding B.V. was formed

After a change in strategy Ten Cate B.V. sold the company to the management team in 2005. The contemporary MegaGroup Trade Holding B.V. name was formed after this buyout.

2008​ - Branch opening in Poland: Remar, including a warehouse

In 2002 Mr. Marian Chmaj established the Remar company. In 2006 the company started cooperation with MegaGroup and in 2008 bought all the shares from the founder.

2011​ - Bevo Nordic joined MegaGroup

Before Bevo Nordic became a part of MegaGroup the company was named Trade Nordic and was founded in 2005 by Michael Blessing. The purpose of the company was to sell PVC pipes and fittings to industry, livestock and pool customers. In January 2011 Michael sold Trade Nordic ApS to MegaGroup and the name was changed to Bevo Nordic A/S. Michael's passion is growth and he would rather be a small part of something big than a big part of something small.

2013​ - New office & energy efficient EDC for MegaGroup at Doornhoek in Veghel

The construction of our energy efficient European Distribution Center in 2013 marked a new area in efficient supply logistics, allowing us to reach all corners of our markets within 48 hours and very often even faster. The first shipments left its doors in November 2013.

2014​ - Remar changed name to Bevo Poland

Remar decided to change the company's name from Remar to Bevo, in order to unify the names of all departments. In the same year, Megagroup sold all its Eastern European companies. Since then Bevo Poland is the last company in this part of Europe.​

2015 ​- Nimbus buys MegaGroup

Megagroup gets bought by hands-on investment company Nimbus.

2017​ - Take over of LiquiPipe

Liquipipe is a specialist retailer for piping and connection technology, as well as suitable components and supplements, especially for private customers. They supply everything from fresh water supply line, disposal piping and specially tailored industrial products and connection parts, to fittings and hoses, Storz components and a wide range for pond, pool and swimming pool construction products. 

2018 - Foundation of WaterStarters

WaterStarters is founded, with a mission to give everyone all over the world access to clean, safe drinking water. WaterStarters work closely with the African health organisation AMREF in the WaterStarters foundation.

2020​ - Opening of sister company AquaDrip

Aquadrip was founded in 1980 and have a been a part of MegaGroup since November 2020. Aquadrip was owned by Lars-Göran for 40 years, and in 2018 he sold it to investor Jan Carlsson and in 2020 he sold the company to MegaGroup/Bevo Nordic. The time had come for Aquadrip to upsize and use their years of experience to further develop their business in a larger setting. ​

2021​ - Acquisition of Plimat and epco in the UK, and Reber in Germany

Plimat is based in Southampton, UK, and was established in 1995 as an independent UK distributor of U-PVC and ABS plastic piping systems. They serve installers, OEMs and resellers in piping systems. Since its establishment in 1994, epco Piping Systems has specialised in supplying comprehensive pressure pipe systems for industrial and commercial applications, from its stockholdings in Leeds, UK.​ 


Reber has over the past 30 years established itself as an authority in Germany when it comes to horticulture and landscaping irrigation. They are the importer of Hunter landscape irrigation products. Reber’s customer base consists predominantly of professional end-users such as farmers and growers and resellers. With this takeover, MegaGroup is expanding its position in the German irrigation market.  

2022​ - New energy efficient EDC for MegaGroup in Poland

Megagroup's business has grown considerably in recent years and the strategy is to continue this in the coming years. The warehouse capacity of MGLS was insufficient to continue to follow this growth. The new DC is in Poznan, Poland. This new DC will be fully operational in spring 2023.

2023​ - Bosta is 80!

With a lot of history and experience, Bosta now celebrates its 80th anniversary!
