I have air bubbles in my pump. Is this normal?

No. A swimming pool circulation system is air tight and there should be no air present. This may cause insufficient water levels in the pump and cause damage to the pump and/or immediate pipework due to overheating.
Common causes of this are the water level in the pool is to low, there is a damaged pipe or fitting in the suction side of the pool to the pump sucking in air, the pump lid or pump casing has a spilt or the O ring has become worn and perished.
