How do I connect my overground pump?

  • Use glue specifically for pressure PVC.
  • Use sufficient Teflon tape on the thread seals. Wind the tape around the fittings clockwise. 
  • It is preferable to use plastic couplings for plastic (not steel or brass couplings). 
  • Place the pump as close to the water source as possible. 
  • It is good practise to use a pre-filter and, depending on the application, a filter at discharge 
  • The suction pipe should be air-tight. If there is a leak anywhere, the pump will take in air causing the water to drop. 
  • A pump can be damaged by frost, even if it is light frost, so please store the pump indoors or make sure the pump cannot freeze up after every sprinkling season.
