Irrigation installer transforms blueberry farm with sustainable pump system upgrade

One of our customers recently completed a major project across three blueberry farm sites, replacing outdated diesel pumps with an efficient, electric-powered pump house system - and Bosta was proud to supply a comprehensive package of products needed for this transformation.
Project overview: 250 hectares across 3 sites
Our customer, a UK-based irrigation installation specialist, was contracted to upgrade the water infrastructure across three separate agricultural sites, spanning 250 hectares in total. The brief was to remove the old diesel-powered pumps and install a more sustainable, electric-based, automated solution.
The installer was responsible for the complete design and installation of the new system, and Bosta collaborated closely with them to ensure they had all the specialist components required for this complex project.
The project included:
- Replacing three diesel pumps with high-capacity electric Lowara pumps
- Upgrading pipework and manifolds to connect water storage tanks, pump houses, and field irrigation lines
Bosta delivered all core system components to the installer’s specifications direct to site.
Specialist equipment and custom support
The installer specified Lowara pumps for this job - high-performance, made-to-order equipment that required close coordination with the manufacturer. Bosta managed the process from start to finish, working directly with Lowara to ensure smooth production and delivery.
For the remainder of the components, our large stock holding allowed us to fulfil the installer’s bill of materials with fast, direct-to-site delivery - helping to keep the installation running to schedule.
