Agricultural irrigation valves, measurement and control equipment

Agricultural irrigation valves regulate, isolate and direct water within irrigation installations. Measurement and control equipment supports these functions by monitoring pressure, recording water flow and connecting valves to irrigation controllers. Available equipment covers manual and electrically operated valves, pressure regulators, water meters, flow meters, pressure gauges, sensors, controllers and dosing systems.

Valve construction and connection type should match the surrounding pipework and operating requirements. Available materials include PVC-U, PP, brass, cast iron, fibreglass-reinforced nylon and glass-filled nylon. Connections represented across the agricultural irrigation valves include glue socket, compression, male thread, female thread, hose tail and DIN flange configurations.

Valve types for irrigation water control

Ball valves are available in PVC-U, PP and brass configurations. PVC-U models include glue socket, female thread and single-union designs, while PP ball valves are available with compression or female thread connections. Brass ball valves use female threaded connections, including nickel-plated models. Compare the available PVC and PP valves by material, connection and pressure rating.

Additional valve choices include brass gate valves, butterfly valves, cast iron valves and foot valves. Foot valve configurations cover galvanised steel hose-tail models and brass female-threaded models, including spring-loaded designs. The correct choice depends on the valve function, pipe connection and required nominal size.

Bermad irrigation valves include fibreglass-reinforced nylon solenoid valves from the Series 200 group and pressure reducing valves with female threaded connections. Combination air release and vacuum valves made from glass-filled nylon are also available. Match electrically operated valves to the specified voltage and controller arrangement before installation.

Irrigation pressure regulators and pressure gauges

Irrigation pressure regulators include brass nickel-plated and fibreglass-reinforced nylon pressure reducing valves. Female threaded connections are represented, with individual models carrying different nominal sizes and pressure ratings. Select irrigation pressure regulators by checking the inlet connection, valve material, nominal diameter and stated pressure rating against the irrigation pipework.

Irrigation pressure gauges provide a direct means of checking system pressure. Dry and glycerin-filled gauges are available with male threaded connections. Examples include 63 mm gauges with bottom or back connections and measuring scales such as 0-6 bar and 0-16 bar. The connection position matters because it affects how the gauge fits into the intended installation point. Compare irrigation pressure gauges by scale, thread and connection orientation.

Irrigation flow meters and water meters

Irrigation flow meters and water meters are available in brass, nylon and cast iron. Brass and nylon multi-jet horizontal meters use male threaded connections, while cast iron Woltman horizontal meters use DIN flange connections. Selected brass and nylon meters carry CE/MID identification and are available with pulse options. Pulse readers with a cable are also represented for compatible measurement arrangements.

Choose irrigation water meters and flow meters by matching the connection format, nominal diameter, flow capacity, pressure rating and pulse requirement. Threaded meters and flanged meters are not interchangeable without suitable connecting components, so the existing pipework layout should be confirmed before ordering. Where CE/MID identification is required, check that it is stated for the specific meter.

Controllers, sensors and dosing equipment

Irrigation controllers and sensors form part of wider measurement and control arrangements. Associated equipment includes cables, connectors, a Wi-Fi module, transformers and a pulse reader. Voltage and connector requirements vary, so electrical accessories must be matched to the relevant controller, valve or meter. Waterproof direct-bury wire connectors are available for applicable wiring installations.

Dosing systems include dosing pumps with male thread and hose-tail connections. Hygrometers and thermometers are also available for environmental measurement. When selecting irrigation controllers, confirm compatibility with the intended valves, sensors, transformer, cables and connectors rather than choosing each component independently.

Selecting compatible irrigation control equipment

Begin with the required function: flow isolation, pressure reduction, pressure measurement, water measurement, air release, electrical control or dosing. Then compare the material, nominal size, connection type and pressure rating with the existing installation. Glue socket valves require a different pipe connection from threaded, compression, hose-tail or flanged models.

For measurement equipment, check the measuring scale or flow capacity as well as the connection. For electrically operated equipment, confirm the stated voltage, cable arrangement and connector type. These checks help align agricultural irrigation valves, irrigation measurement equipment and control components with the pipework and electrical system in which they will be installed.
