Vertical multistage pumps for pressure and circulation duties

Vertical multistage pumps are multistage centrifugal pumps used in installations where pressure generation and a vertical pump layout are required. They are relevant for commercial pumping systems, vertical pump systems and industrial water circulation duties, with product groups also aligned to water booster pumps and boiler feed pumps where the selected model matches the duty.

The vertical multistage pump product group covers stainless steel and cast iron models with threaded and flanged connection references. Selection should start with the required pump type, followed by material, connection format, electrical data and compatibility with the existing pipework or installation layout.

Materials and construction choices

Product titles specify stainless steel and cast iron construction. Stainless steel appears across CRI and NKV pump types, while cast iron appears on P7SV, P7L and ME versions. Select the pump material in line with the site specification and the existing system requirements. Where a pump is being replaced, matching the original construction material and connection arrangement is an important ordering check.

Connection formats and sizing references

Available connection references include 1 1/4 female thread, 2 female thread, DN35 DIN flange, DN40 flange and DN65 x DN50 DIN flange. Threaded vertical pressure pumps should be matched to the existing female thread connection. Flanged multistage water pumps should be checked against the required flange size and pipework arrangement before selection.

Where DN sizing is stated, keep the inlet and outlet references together during comparison. For example, a DN65 x DN50 DIN flange reference should not be treated in the same way as a single DN flange reference. Correct connection matching helps avoid ordering a pump that does not align with the installed pipework.

Electrical details and model variants

Product references show 230-400VAC and 400VAC versions, with current values such as 1A, 1.9A, 2.5A, 4.45A, 5.1A and 5.9A in selected titles. These electrical details should be checked against the supply and control arrangement for the installation. Variant counts differ by pump family, so the exact model reference should be reviewed before ordering.

Key pump families and model references

Common model references include P7SV, P7L-400/8T, ME, compact ME, CRI 1S, CRI 1, CRI 5 and NKV. Some models are described as vertical, while others are presented as multistage centrifugal pumps with stainless steel or cast iron construction. The Foras Multi-stage centrifugal pump, vertical, P7SV is identified with cast iron construction and a 1 1/4 female thread connection.

The Rovatti Multi-stage centrifugal pump, vertical, ME is identified with cast iron construction and DN65 x DN50 DIN flange connections. Stainless steel alternatives appear under CRI, NKV and compact ME references, with both threaded and flanged formats present across the product data.

Selection checks for high pressure multistage pumps

Select high pressure multistage pumps by confirming the hydraulic duty, material, connection type, voltage reference and physical installation layout. The vertical configuration suits installations planned around upright pumping equipment, but pipe alignment and available space still need to be checked against the selected pump specification.

For industrial vertical pumps used as water booster pumps, boiler feed pumps or industrial water circulation equipment, compatibility with existing pipework is a key ordering check. Connection style should match the installed pipe system, whether the pump uses female thread, DIN flange or another flanged arrangement stated for the model.

Related pump choices

For stainless steel flanged options, model references such as the Grundfos Multi-stage centrifugal pump, CRI 1S-A FGJ I V HQQV and the DAB Multi-stage centrifugal pump, NKV provide stainless steel construction with flange references. Threaded stainless steel and cast iron models are also present, giving buyers practical options for matching pump construction, connection type and electrical requirements.
