Pool construction materials for professional pool builds

Pool construction materials support the main stages of swimming pool construction, from pool wall construction and lining through to fittings, access equipment and finishing details. Suitable pool building supplies include EPS pool building blocks, PVC pool liners, polyester geotextile, liner accessories, white goods, swimming pool fittings, pool steps and solar showers. For installers, the key selection points are the pool type, installation position, connection format, stated dimensions and compatibility with the wider pool structure.

In-ground pool materials often need to be planned together because structural components, liner systems and white goods must align during installation. Matching wall materials, liner rolls, skimmers, inlets, outlets and drains at specification stage helps prevent mismatched dimensions or connection types later in the build.

Pool building blocks and wall construction components

Pool building blocks are used for creating the pool wall structure. Product options include white EPS25/EPS80 pool building bricks and EPS25 end pieces, with 250 mm sizing stated on specific brick and end-piece products. Select blocks and end pieces by checking the EPS type, stated dimensions and the required wall layout before ordering.

For structural work, building blocks should be matched with the rest of the pool construction plan, including liner preparation, white goods positions and finishing profiles. This is especially important where skimmers, inlet fittings, outlets or wall conduits need to be integrated into the pool shell.

Pool liners, geotextile and liner accessories

Pool liners form an important part of the internal pool finish. PVC pool liner options include types such as Supra, Pearl, Exclusive Line Solid Stone, 3D Premium Stone Flex and 3D Premium Matrix. Several liner products state 25 m roll length and 1.65 m width, while different colour and surface styles appear across the liner options. Choose pool liners by matching the PVC type, finish, roll dimensions and pool shell requirements.

Pool liner systems may also require preparation and finishing products. Polyester geotextile options are available in white and light green, with 50 m length and 300 g/m2 stated on specific products. L-profile galvanised steel components, including internal corner and outside corner types at 88°, can be selected where a compatible finishing profile is required. A glue aerosol spray is also present among liner-related installation products.

For liner work, pool liner accessories should be checked against the liner type, pool shape and stated product dimensions. Confirm whether the installation requires geotextile, profiles, adhesive products or other finishing accessories before selecting pool liners alone.

White goods and swimming pool fittings

White goods and swimming pool fittings create connection points for the pool shell and water system. Available product types include ABS skimmers, high waterline skimmers, inlet fittings, adjustable outlets, main drains, height extensions, safety grills, wall conduits, level regulators and overflow gratings. White is common across many of these products, while ABS appears frequently in skimmers, inlets, outlets and related fittings.

Connection details vary by product. Supported connection terms include female thread, male thread, glue socket and glue socket x male thread. Some items also state PVC-U, stainless steel details or brass thread information. Select white goods by matching the connection type, fitting position, pool construction type and existing pipework or equipment.

Connection and installation checks

Before selecting pool installation components, check every stated connection format and size. Examples from the product data include 1 1/2 inch and 2 inch thread references, 50 mm and 63 mm glue socket references, and nozzle dimensions on selected adjustable outlets. Where a product is intended for liner pools or fibreglass pools, match that description to the installation context.

Pool ladders, steps and showers

Access and comfort products form part of the final pool build specification. Pool ladder and shower options include stainless steel 316 pool steps in a flange wide model, with three-step variants present, and plastic solar showers in black straight and 45° bend forms. Solar shower products state female thread connection details on specific items.

When selecting pool ladders and showers, match the product type to the pool layout, access requirement and installation position. Pool steps, ladders and showers should be considered alongside coping, liner finishing and surrounding pool construction accessories.

Choosing compatible pool building accessories

Pool building accessories should be selected as part of a complete construction plan rather than as isolated items. Check the stated material first, such as EPS, PVC, ABS, PVC-U, polyester, galvanised steel, stainless steel 316 or plastic. Then compare the dimensions, thread type, glue socket format, liner type and intended pool application given for the specific product.

For a smoother specification process, group products by construction stage: wall structure, liner preparation, liner finish, hydraulic openings, drains and outlets, access equipment and shower equipment. This helps align pool construction materials with the installation sequence and reduces the risk of selecting fittings or accessories that do not match the chosen pool system.
