Agricultural irrigation couplers for hoses and pipework
Agricultural irrigation couplers connect hoses, pipes and adjoining fittings in field irrigation systems. The Camlock letter designations distinguish the connection configuration. Available examples include type A with a male Camlock part and female thread, type B with a female Camlock part and male thread, type C with a female part and hose tail, and type D with a female part and female thread. Bauer and Perrot field irrigation couplers
Galvanised steel Bauer type couplers provide male and female coupling parts combined with hose tails, male threads and flanges. Available fittings include Bauer S73 flange adaptors, S74 and S75 threaded adaptors, S77 and S78 hose-tail adaptors, and S9 plugs. Select Bauer type steel couplers by the required coupling side, adjoining connection and dimensions.
Perrot irrigation couplers are also available in galvanised steel. Options include male Perrot adaptors with hose tails and 90° bends that connect a female Perrot part to a male Perrot part. These agricultural pipe couplings support straight hose connections and changes in pipework direction using compatible Perrot fittings. Check the required male or female coupling end before selecting Perrot type steel couplers.
Storz, brass and PVC coupling options
Storz irrigation couplers are manufactured from forged aluminium and are available with female threads or hose tails. Hose-tail versions with clamps for flat hose are also available. Coupling diameter, hose-tail size, thread size and pressure rating differ across the available configurations, so each value should be checked against the intended connection. Keep each coupling family consistent across adjoining components unless a suitable adaptor is specified.
Materials, pressure ratings and seals
Material options across the irrigation coupling systems include aluminium, forged aluminium, brass, galvanised steel, stainless steel, PP and PVC. Material should be assessed together with the coupling design, dimensions, end connection and stated pressure rating rather than considered separately.
Pressure ratings vary by individual fitting. PP Camlock parts are available with stated ratings of 6 bar or 7.5 bar, while aluminium Camlock couplers are available at 16 bar. Forged aluminium Storz couplers are available at 15 bar, and brass quick couplers include 10 bar and 12 bar configurations. A galvanised steel Perrot 90° bend is available at 10 bar. Confirm the rating of the exact coupling fitting rather than applying one rating to an entire coupling family.
Rubber seals include NBR and Perbunan options in several variants. When replacing a seal, check that its dimensions and designation correspond with the existing coupler. Caps and plugs must likewise match the male or female coupling format and the correct coupling system.
Selecting irrigation hose connection fittings
Start by identifying the existing coupling system: Camlock, Bauer type, Perrot type, Storz, Fersil PVC or brass quick coupling. Next, determine whether the required fitting needs a male or female coupling part and whether the opposite end connects through a hose tail, male thread, female thread, compression connection or flange.
Check all stated dimensions, including hose-tail diameter, thread size, coupling diameter or flange designation where applicable. Then compare the material and pressure rating with the requirements of the agricultural irrigation installation. For adaptors and bends, verify both connection ends. For caps, plugs and replacement seals, match the relevant coupling format and size before installation.
