Agricultural pipe fixings and adhesives for irrigation installations

Agricultural pipe fixings provide the mounting hardware needed to support irrigation pipework during installation. Available fixing accessories include black PP pipe clamps, pipe clamp extensions, two-piece pipe brackets, pipe clamps with pins, screws and cable ties. PVC pipe glue, solvent cleaner and sealing materials are also available for joint preparation and pipework assembly.

Choosing suitable irrigation pipe clamps or pipe mounting brackets starts with the pipe dimensions and mounting arrangement. Check the stated clamp or bracket size against the pipe, then review the material, fixing method and thread details. The available formats cover metric and imperial size references, depending on the clamp or bracket design.

PP irrigation pipe clamps and extensions

Black PP pipe support clamps are available in type 2, type 3, type C, type F and type POPP formats. These clamps cover multiple stated pipe sizes, with individual designs offered in several variants. Pipe clamp extensions are also available in black PP, including standard extensions and type E or E-C formats.

When comparing pipe fixings, match the stated diameter or imperial size to the relevant pipework. The clamp type and extension format must also suit the intended mounting arrangement. For threaded brackets, verify whether the fixing requires M8 or M8/M10 female threads. Woodscrews in galvanised steel and hanger screws in stainless steel are available as associated pipe installation fixings.

PVC pipe glue and solvent cleaner

PVC pipe adhesives include THF-free PVC glue and transparent PVC glue. Available container formats include 0.5 litre, 1 litre and 5 litre products. Certain glue formats are supplied with a brush, while others are specified without a brush or with a steel lid. One transparent PVC glue carries KIWA and WRAS references in its specification.

Solvent cleaner is available in several variants for pipe cleaning and preparation tasks. Cleaning paper and grey cleaning rags provide additional pipe cleaning products for installation work. When selecting adhesives and cleaners, compare the container capacity, brush format, label language and any stated approval references. Always use PVC pipe glue and solvent cement cleaner according to the instructions provided with the chosen material.

Sealing materials for pipework connections

Sealing choices include white PTFE sealing tape, green fibre seal, pipe thread sealant hemp and sealant. The available PTFE tape carries a DVGW reference, while the fibre seal carries DVGW, GASTEC and WRAS references. Formats differ by material, length, weight and container type, so the selected sealing material should match the relevant connection and installation specification.

Pipe thread sealant hemp is available in different weights and packaging formats, including a jar. Sealant is also offered in several variants. Check whether the installation calls for tape, fibre seal, hemp or sealant before ordering, as these materials are presented as separate solutions rather than interchangeable formats.

Selecting pipe fixing accessories

Begin by identifying whether the installation requires a PP clamp, clamp extension, steel bracket, clamp with pin or threaded two-piece bracket. Confirm the pipe size, then check the fixing material and mounting configuration. For female-threaded brackets, verify the required thread designation and select compatible screws or mounting hardware separately where necessary.

For adhesive work, distinguish between PVC pipe glue, solvent cleaner and general cleaning materials. Check the glue capacity and whether a brush is supplied. For sealing work, review the specified tape, fibre, hemp or sealant format and any approval references required for the installation. These checks help align irrigation pipe supports, adhesives and cleaning materials with the planned pipework assembly.
