Agricultural irrigation filtration for water systems

Agricultural irrigation filtration equipment covers screen filters, disc filters, sand and media filters, hydrocyclone filters and drum filters. These irrigation filter units are available in manual, semi-automatic and automatic configurations, supporting different installation and operating requirements within agricultural water filtration systems.

Selecting a suitable agricultural water filter requires attention to the filtration method, micron grade, pressure rating, connection, nominal size and body material. The correct specification must also match the surrounding irrigation pipework and the operating requirements of the installation. Available configurations include male thread, female thread, flange and Victaulic connections.

Screen and disc filtration for agriculture

Irrigation screen filters are available with bodies made from PP, PA, POM, fibreglass-reinforced nylon and carbon steel. Selected models use stainless steel 316 screens, stainless steel gauze or polyester gauze. Filtration grades represented across screen filters and inserts include 50, 100, 120, 130, 200 and 500 micron, although the available grade depends on the individual filter or cartridge.

Manual screen filters include male-threaded and female-threaded configurations, with pressure ratings of 8 or 10 bar available on specific models. Semi-automatic and automatic screen filters provide further operational formats. Carbon steel automatic filters with flange connections and fibreglass-reinforced nylon models with male thread or flange connections are also available.

Irrigation disc filters include manual filters, inline filters and inline helix filters. Available body materials include plastic, PA and fibreglass-reinforced nylon. Selected units have male thread, Victaulic or combined Victaulic and male thread connections. Manual, semi-automatic and automatic irrigation filters

Manual irrigation filters are available in both screen and disc formats. They cover compact inline configurations as well as larger threaded units. Semi-automatic filters include PP and fibreglass-reinforced nylon bodies with male-threaded connections, stainless steel 316 screens or stainless steel gauze on selected models, and specified 10 bar pressure ratings.

Automatic screen filters include fibreglass-reinforced nylon and carbon steel designs. Depending on the model, connection choices include male thread and flange, while electrical specifications include 6 VDC, 9-12 VDC latch and 24 VAC. Automatic disc filters are also available, including fibreglass-reinforced nylon inline helix units with Victaulic connections and 230 VAC specifications.

When comparing automatic irrigation filters, check the electrical requirement as well as the pressure rating, filtration grade and pipe connection. These details vary between units and must correspond with the planned irrigation installation. Manual and semi-automatic designs should likewise be matched by size, connection and cartridge specification.

Sand, media, hydrocyclone and drum filters

Sand and media filters include carbon steel ST37.2 vessels with epoxy coating. Specific models have an 8 bar rating and either female-threaded or Victaulic connections. Filter sand is available in a 0.4-0.8 mm grade and 25 kg pack, with several variants offered for media filtration requirements.

Hydrocyclone filters provide another agricultural irrigation filtration format. Drum filters are also available, including HDPE models specified with nylon gauze, a 60-micron filtration grade and 230 VAC electrical supply. Compare these formats with screen, disc and sand media filters according to the required filtration method and installation specification.

Filter cartridges, inserts and accessories

Screen cartridges and disc cartridges support compatible irrigation filter units. Stainless steel 316 screen inserts are available for Manual, Scanaway, Super, Mini Sigma and Adir configurations, with different nominal sizes and micron grades. Manual disc inserts are also available in more than one size and filtration grade.

Compatibility is essential when replacing a screen or disc insert. Check the filter configuration, nominal size, micron grade and insert material before ordering. A cartridge identified for one filter design should not be assumed to fit another configuration without matching these details.

Irrigation filter accessories can be considered alongside cartridges and filter sand when specifying or maintaining an irrigation filtration system. Match every component to the relevant filter unit and verify the pressure rating, connection and filtration specification against the existing installation.

Choosing agricultural water filters

Begin by identifying whether screen filtration, disc filtration, sand media filtration, hydrocyclone filtration or drum filtration is required. Then compare manual, semi-automatic and automatic operation. Narrow the choice by checking micron grade, pressure rating, body and insert materials, connection type, nominal size and any stated electrical supply.

For existing pipework, confirm whether the connection is male thread, female thread, flange or Victaulic.
