Sand filters for water filtration systems

Sand filters are water treatment filters used within sand filter systems, water filtration tanks and filtration media systems. Steel sand filter vessels are available for industrial water treatment, including carbon steel ST37.2 models with an 8 bar rating. These pressure sand filters are selected by matching vessel material, connection type and installation pipework.

Steel vessels and material options

Carbon steel ST37.2 is the specified material for the sand filter vessels in the available product options. For projects requiring steel vessels, steel sand filters are relevant when the installation calls for a metal filter vessel. Some models also refer to epoxy coating and a blue finish, so check the individual model specification before ordering.

Industrial sand filters are often chosen as part of wider water purification equipment and water filter components. The vessel should be considered alongside the pipework, the connection method and any other filtration equipment already specified for the system. Matching these details helps avoid selecting a vessel that does not fit the intended installation context.

Connection types for sand filter systems

Connection choice is a key selection point. Available product options include flange, female thread and Victaulic connections. A Victaulic sand filter may be selected where that connection format matches the surrounding pipework, while female thread sand filters suit installations designed around threaded connections.

Flanged connections are also available for sand filter vessels used with compatible flanged pipework. A flange sand filter should be selected only when the flange format matches the system design and connected components.

Pressure rating and variant selection

For industrial sand filters and multi-media filtration systems, confirm the required pressure rating against the wider installation requirements before selecting a vessel. Pressure rating should be checked together with material, connection format and the required vessel configuration.

Variant availability differs between product groups, with two-variant and three-variant options specified. This makes it important to compare the required connection style with the exact vessel model. Carbon steel ST37.2, 8 bar vessels may share the same general function but differ in connection format and specification details.

Specifying sand media filters for water treatment

Sand media filters are considered for sediment filtration solutions and sand filtration in water systems. Product selection should focus on compatibility rather than assuming that every vessel suits every installation. Match the connection style to existing pipework, confirm whether steel construction is required and check that the vessel type aligns with the system layout.

Related product choices

For a narrower material choice, use steel sand filters. For specific connection formats, compare flanged vessels with threaded or Victaulic alternatives. Selecting the right sand filter vessel keeps the filtration system consistent with the specified pipework and associated water treatment filters.
