Hand pumps for manual liquid transfer

Hand pumps provide a manually operated pumping method for water and liquid transfer tasks where a hand-operated pump is specified. Choose from cast iron hand pumps, pitcher pumps, standard hand pumps, nostalgic pump styles, semi rotary pumps, rotating hand pumps and priming pumps. Accessories and replacement components are also available for maintaining or adapting compatible pump assemblies.

Manual water pumps should be selected by pump type, material, connection size and mounting arrangement. Hand pump types and connection options

Cast iron hand pumps

Cast iron hand pumps appear in several formats, including a pitcher pump with flange, standard hand pumps with round or wall flange, nostalgic pump styles with wall or round flange and a universal hand pump. Female thread sizes include 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 connections for selected cast iron hand pumps. Black and green pump variants are also present, allowing the pump style to be matched to the required installation arrangement.

Rotary and priming pumps

Rotary pump options include a semi rotary pump in cast iron with a 1/2 female thread and a cast iron rotating hand pump with a 3/4 female thread. The semi rotary pump is available in multiple variants. A priming pump in aluminium with a 3/4 female thread is also present. Before selecting a manual transfer pump, check the pump type, material and stated female thread size against the connecting pipework or fittings.

The semi rotary pump is suitable where that specific rotary hand pump format is required. For installations requiring a priming pump, compare the aluminium priming pump by connection size and installation need before ordering.

Hand pump accessories and replacement components

Hand pump components support repair, replacement and assembly work. Available accessories include piston sealrings, cone and seal sets, piston rods, flange seals, wall flanges, round flanges, pistons, levers, lids and leather seals. Pump risers are also present for standard and nostalgic pump types, and a cast iron fountain bowl is available for oldtimer-style pump arrangements.

Use hand pump accessories to match replacement parts to the relevant pump model, flange style and installation position. Components such as seals, pistons and piston rods should be checked against the existing pump reference before purchase. Flange parts should be selected according to the required wall or round mounting arrangement.

Practical selection considerations

Start with the required pump action. Standard, pitcher, nostalgic and universal hand pumps suit installations where a traditional hand pump body is specified. Semi rotary and rotating hand pumps suit requirements for rotary hand operated pumping equipment. Priming pumps are a separate pump type and should be selected only where a priming pump is required.

Connection size is a key specification. Product options state female thread sizes including 1/2, 3/4, 1-1/4 and 1-1/2, depending on the pump model. Match the female thread to the corresponding pipework, fittings or installation components. Also check whether a round flange, wall flange, pump riser or separate flange accessory is needed for the installation.

For standard pump assemblies, a pump riser for a standard pump can be selected where that matching riser is required. Nostalgic pump arrangements have their own pump riser option, so the pump style and accessory type should be matched carefully.
