Their reliable heating systems and smaller domestic pumps cater to various applications in single-family homes and residential buildings, including heating, HVAC OEM, domestic hot water, boosting, drainage, and wastewater.

By choosing Grundfos, our customers benefit from high-tech products and services, including energy and system optimisation, making comfort and efficiency a seamless reality in both homes and workplaces.

Industry

Water and energy are essential to the core of most industrial processes. These resources allow us to keep our refrigerators filled with food and drinks, transport cars from the assembly line to the road, and deliver smartphones and medicines to those in need.

In developed countries, industries account for over half of the water used by humans. Grundfos recognises the responsibility to address this issue and is dedicated to making a difference. With a firm commitment to sustainability and efficiency, they continually explore new methods to create a positive impact, aiming to develop innovative solutions that foster progress in these critical areas.

Water Utilities

Addressing the increasing demand for clean and safe water necessitates a fundamental transformation in how we manage the entire water cycle, encompassing everything from drinking water to wastewater and from communities to irrigation.

In the Water Utility sector, Grundfos collaborates with stakeholders across the ecosystem, including customers, designers, consultants, value chain partners, and suppliers. Together, they develop intelligent and sustainable pumping and solar-powered solutions designed to optimise water management in areas such as groundwater and irrigation, clean water distribution, wastewater collection and transport, and water intake.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does hydraulic balancing refer to?

Hydraulic balancing of the pipe network is required in order to avoid oversupply/undersupply of individual pipe trains and consumers. This ensures optimal, low-noise heat distribution.
Hydraulic balancing is performed using pipe train regulating valves and thermostat valves with preset or adjustable lockshield valves.

Why is the circulator pump making noise, and what can be done about it?

Air in the pump

Remedy: The pump is self-venting. Note the pump's control setting on the display. In order to vent the pump rapidly, set the pump to maximum speed and let it run for half an hour. Then return it to the original control setting. If this does not solve the problem, please call your professional installer.

Inlet pressure too low

Remedy:  These faults can only be remedied by a specialist company. Call your professional installer.

Why is my hot water inconsistent?

The reason for the inconsistent hot water in your taps can be due to fluctuating water pressure in your home in general, or it can be that you need to install a hot water circulation pump, so you don't have to wait for the water to get hot in your taps. Y

If the surface of the circulator pump is warm to the touch, what might be the cause?

A: Circulator pumps are generally used to circulate hot water. The temperature of the pumped medium is transferred to the pump, and it is normal for the pump's surface to be warm or even hot.
B: The pump's rotor may have become blocked by worn bearings or dirt. Replace the pump and clean the system

What are the requirements for the hot water recirculation pump?

  • Pump parts that are exposed to contact with water must be made of corrosion-resistant materials. Tap water is a constant source of dissolved oxygen and salts, which are aggressive to metal parts.
  • The pump’s hydraulic performance should be chosen correctly for the system’s actual needs. Due to low flow rate requirements, hot water recirculation doesn’t require a powerful pump. Oversizing a pump would lead to unnecessary spending, noise, and, if circulation operates 24/7, accelerated degradation of pipes.
  • Automatic control. The benefits of a hot water recirculation system come with the price of increased heat loss. However, this can be significantly mitigated by reducing the circulation periods. Running the pump in smart control modes allows one to achieve this without reducing comfort.

The circulator pump is operating in 'Autoadapt' mode and is showing a constant power consumption of over 5 watts. What can be done about it?

The pump's power consumption changes as a function of the heating system's requirements. A power consumption of 5 watts is only displayed at the minimum speed, e.g. during night set-back.
